Supporting Young People
We work with young people in and out of schools to help them learn and achieve, build their confidence and capability, and enjoy inspirational experiences that they will remember for life.
Our work with young people is diverse and ranges from outdoor learning to coaching and mentoring those who need extra support. We believe that every young person can play a positive role in their community and that young people are a part of the solution when it comes to tackling big issues like climate change. Our activity extends from early years provision, through primary and secondary education and into careers support for young adults.
We can help deliver:
- Environmental education and outdoor learning
- Personal development programmes
- Youth social action
- Coaching, mentoring and wellbeing support
- Youth work including gang and serious youth violence prevention
The way we work:
- We listen to young people: we take a participatory approach, ensuring young people are able to influence and lead our activities, services, and campaigns.
- We amplify voices: we find practical ways to give young people more of a say in their communities and help them use their voice to tackle issues that affect their lives and futures.
- We build resilience and character: our practical projects are designed to help young people stretch themselves, build relationships and gain the confidence needed to succeed.
- We work in partnership: we help teachers bring the curriculum to life, work with schools to tackle attendance and motivation issues and support health practitioners to improve the wellbeing of young people.
- We respond to young people’s priorities: we know many young people care passionately about the environment and help them find practical ways of making a positive difference.
