Rachel McKinney

Rachel is a trustee at Groundwork Northern Ireland and sits on the Governance & Personnel Committee. A project manager at EY Northern Ireland for over six years, she has experience of working within a variety of large-scale transformation programmes in government and public sector, health and the private sector. This has included working in the areas of strategy, project management, operations and change management with clients across the UK and Ireland. She graduated in Business Management from Queen’s University Belfast in 2018 and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Rachel says she joined Groundwork Northern Ireland because

“I shadowed the Board of GWNI in 2022 as part of Boardroom Apprentice, a training and development programme aimed at aspiring Board Members in Northern Ireland. In that time, I was able to see the amazing work being delivered across communities in Northern Ireland by the skilled, passionate and friendly staff team at GWNI. I was sad when my ‘apprenticeship’ came to an end, so when I was asked to join as a ‘proper’ Board member in 2023, it was a no-brainer!”
