Job title: Café / Front of House Assistant
Salary: Under 21: (Currently – £8.60 per hour) increasing to £10.00 per hour from 01st April 2025
Aged 21 and over: (Currently £11.44) increasing to £12.21 from 01st April 2025
Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm
Contract: 28 hours across 7 days (Flexible shifts)
Location: Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre, Winlaton Mill, Gateshead
- Provide excellent customer service by serving food and drinks
- Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties
- Maintain a clean and organized café environment
- Support the team to ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety
- Work alongside a friendly team to create a positive and welcoming experience for all customers
- Ideally availability Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm (flexible hours can be discussed)
- A positive attitude and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, busy environment
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality is a plus, but not essential
- A team player who enjoys working together to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Someone who takes pride in their work including being punctual and well presented
- A flexible and adaptable worker who can support their colleagues and the centre’s needs
- Be part of a supportive, friendly team that truly cares about customers and each other
- Work in a popular café that is loved by the community
- Contribute to a meaningful cause by supporting the Groundwork Northeast and Cumbria Charity
- Gain valuable experience in the catering industry
