Tackling Fuel Poverty
Green Doctor aims to provide sustainable solutions for fuel poor households that require more intensive support than remotely delivered energy advice services can offer.
Our experience tells us that these households can often experience multiple, interconnected challenges associated with their household income, health and wellbeing, and quality of accommodation. They therefore need bespoke support, including being connected to multiple services in order to help them to change their circumstances.
Where possible we will aim to provide lasting solutions to Green Doctor customers – for example supporting them in accessing grants to improve their heating systems, switching energy tariffs to save money, or connecting customers with partners to ensure they fully understand benefit entitlements. We aim to deliver lasting cost savings for households through a series of small energy saving measures, and by embedded behaviour changes that can incrementally reduce energy costs, resulting in significant differences over time.

In supporting people to gain control of their energy bills, and by helping them to keep warm in their home, we aim to deliver health and wellbeing benefits – for example reducing the risk of respiratory illness caused by living in cold or damp homes, or improving mental health by putting people back in control of their energy bills.
