BLOG – Ideas for your National Education Nature Park grant project
Nurseries, schools and colleges across the country maybe able to receive a grant of up to £10,000 as part of the National Education Nature Park’s initiative to turn grey spaces in education settings green.
The funding can help cover the costs of installing green features such as ponds, grasslands and wildflowers, flower, fruit and vegetable planters, trees, green walls or roofs, water butts or other irrigation.

Example projects
The following are a list of green measures and their costs to help you better understand what is achievable within the funding budget.
Please note, for your features to be successful in the long-term we recommend bespoke solutions which are designed with your space, the environment and users in mind. The prices given below are therefore guidelines/an example only.
Raised wooden planters
We can construct and install wooden planters each measuring roughly 4m x 1.2m, similar to the below. These are designed to be placed onto a tarmac surface such as a playground.
£1,750 + VAT
The cost covers the timber, membrane and soil, all delivery and install costs but excludes any items for planting or supervised planting days, these can however be arranged at an additional cost.

Upcycled tyre planters with fruit trees
We can source and install three fruit trees in these quirky upcycled tyre planters for approximately £1,600 + VAT (all delivery & labour included).

Green wall planter
Creation of an 8m (other sizes available) wooden planter with wire framework for plants to grow up the wall costs approximately £1,945 + VAT. Plants not included in the price.
