Green Teams

Our Green Team programme provides skills & training opportunities to those starting a career in construction and/or Natural Environment. Teams transform unsightly urban community spaces and protect and enhance green and blue spaces so that people and nature can thrive.
We’ve been delivering the Green Team model since 2009, combining apprentices with employment, green skills training and work experience on green-spaces across Greater Manchester.
Apprentices are supported by our qualified team to undertake a series of hard and soft landscape work whilst working towards a City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Diploma Landscape Operative qualification.
The Green Team initiatives have been highly successful. We are effectively supporting young unemployed local people as well as providing a well-received environmental service to our tenants, whilst at the same time further cementing our long standing partnership with Groundwork

Urban Greening

Urban greening is needed more today than ever before, as a way to
mitigate the effects of climate change, evidenced in the release of new legislation via Local Nature Recovery Strategies.
We work with a variety of landowners, from housing associations to farmers, to develop land management plans which improve biodiversity and increase access to greenspace for local people, whilst simultaneously teaching the valuable green skills to people in unemployment.
