We are supporting Manchester’s commitment to build a more equal, inclusive and sustainable city for everyone who lives, works, volunteers, studies and plays here.

We work with people, communities and partners across Manchester but primarily in North Manchester, West Gorton and Wythenshawe to put power in local hands, create skills and jobs for a greener economy and deliver greenspaces for nature, for climate and for everyone.

Our work with local people & communities

Creating a Green Community Hub in West Gorton

We’ve been engaging the community about the park’s development for over 5 years, helping the community establish a thriving green hub for people and nature.

Using coaching & mentoring to reduce youth violence

We’re working in 1-2-1 and group settings to provide young people with opportunities to discover their potential, learn skills for the future and express their emotions in calm, creative ways.

Putting local people at the heart of climate action

As an In Our Nature delivery partner, we’re working with communities across Manchester to enhance skills and empower practical action which limit the effects of the climate crisis on those most at risk.

Understanding career options in the green economy

We support teachers and careers advisors in schools and colleges to develop a better understanding of the current and emerging job opportunities in the green economy.

Tackling fuel poverty

Our Green Doctors help Manchester residents boost their income and live warm and well in their homes by installing small measures, offering behaviour change advice and supporting them to manage payments.

Helping young people grow & develop

Our qualified and experienced youth workers arrange regular youth club nights and deliver positive activities in neighbourhoods across Manchester.

Supporting young people to become climate leaders

Our youth workers helped a group of passionate young people in Crumpsall to develop plans to enhance their local greenspace and protect the planet.

Creating a community of river enthusiasts

We’ve been engaging with local people along the River Irk to bring together like-minded people who care about the river, it’s environment, heritage & neighbouring communities.

Reducing social isolation with nature connections

Our Nature Buddies programme enabled residents who felt isolated to access the support they need, take part in outdoor activities, and develop skills which help their community thrive.

Enhancing green & blue spaces in Manchester

Supporting community groups to enhance biodiversity

As part of the Northern Flowerhouse project, our environmental educators delivered wildflower training covering wildflower creation, establishment and harvesting.
