The Little Walled Garden is a green community hub in Bilborough (Nottingham) where we host activities for the whole community.

Taking part in a course is a great way to gain work experience and learn from local environment experts. Meet people, build up self-confidence, improve your health and wellbeing – all while learning a range of new skills!

These free courses are for Nottinghamshire residents (aged 19+) who are unemployed, working part-time, or on a low income.

Location: The Little Walled Garden, St Martin’s Road in Bilborough, NG8 3AR

Gardening & DIY course – 15 & 17th April 9am – 3pm

The course is made up of two parts covering gardening and DIY. Learn the basics on the first day, with more in-depth training on the second day.

Gardening
Learn about soil preparation, composting, seed planting, organic pest control, crop rotation, water conservation, and more.

DIY Skills
Learn how to build garden beds, basic sheds and compost bins, install rain barrels, and make minor repairs on fences and other allotment structures.

Supplies and material donations

We are looking for supplies and materials that help us make the Hub into a thriving space for the whole community.

We welcome donations from individuals, businesses, community groups and other organisations. Any and all support is much appreciated.

Gardening Supplies: Seeds (vegetables, herbs, flowers), compost and topsoil, mulch and wood chips, gardening gloves, hand tools, watering cans and hoses

Building Materials: Wood bricks and paving stones, , nails, screws, and fixings, paint and wood treatment

Tools and Equipment: Spades, rakes, hoes, wheelbarrows compost bins and water butts, power tools

Infrastructure and Furniture: Polytunnels or greenhouses, shed or storage units
