As an Environmental Partner of the Enterprise Development Programme (EDP), Groundwork supported charities and social enterprises operating in the environment sector to become more sustainable.
The programme ran until April 2024 with Groundwork providing tailored support to 45 organisations to help grow their business or enterprise. The package of support included:
- Access to a bespoke learning package co-designed by organisations and Groundwork
- The opportunity for financial support to put learning into action
- Peer-learning and networking opportunities with other participants
- Access to pro bono legal and financial expertise
- Valuable information about the world of social enterprise from leading experts
Funded by Access – The Foundation for Social Investment and managed by Social Investment Business (SIB), the programme provided support to a broad range of charities and social enterprises working in certain sectors in England including environment, mental health, youth, homelessness, equality and black and marginalised communities.

It provides a broad range of support for charities and social enterprises working in certain sectors in England, helping them to expand or upscale their existing business or enterprise model and ways of working.
