Energy Champion Training

Do you want to do more to address climate change and reduce your emissions within your community, but don’t know where to start? If so, attending one of our free courses could be a good place to begin.
Funded by the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership, we are hosting a series of training courses covering topics including climate change, reducing home energy bills and energy efficiency technologies. The sessions are aimed at people wanting to find out how to do more to champion energy efficiency and climate change within their own community.
Courses will feature information about climate change and reducing personal carbon footprints, energy efficiency, how to carry of a DIY home energy audit and the funding available to make changes for the better. On completing the training, participants will be equipped with knowledge and resources to become energy champions within their own community. The course aims to raise awareness of Suffolk’s ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2030 in line with the Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan.
All the courses are free to attend with virtual and in-person options available. Each course is delivered over one day (approximately 5 hours), with in-person courses being held at our Henley office base near Ipswich. Participants need to live in Suffolk to be eligible.

“We wanted to set up these courses to provide practical tips for actions people can take in their communities. There is a lot of support for businesses and lots of talk of net-zero. These courses will bust the jargon and encourage conversations about the opportunities and empower attendees to become community energy champions. We hope to see people who want to see their community work towards reaching Net Zero and champion greater change in their local area”
