Salary: £24,500 to £27,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per week
Location: Sites across the North East & Cumbria
Groundwork NE & Cumbria is seeking a dedicated and proactive Regional Maintenance & Compliance Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the upkeep of our premises, ensuring they are safe, functional, and welcoming for everyone.
About the Role
As our Regional Maintenance Officer, you’ll be at the heart of this charity’s operations, playing a key role in maintaining the buildings and sites across the North East and Cumbria. Reporting to our Facilities & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, responding to repair needs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular maintenance and upkeep jobs across our all our premises.
- Carry out minor emergency repairs
- Perform site legal compliance checks, eg emergency light checks, fire alarm tests, legionella
- Liaising with contractors and facilitating specialist contractor works
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections and compliance checks.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and carrying out general maintenance repairs
- Familiarity with health and safety compliance in a facilities management setting
- A proactive hands-on approach to site maintenance ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities with a customer focussed mindset.
