In a heartwarming development that showcases the power of community education, a group of dedicated art enthusiasts has transformed their learning journey into something truly special. What began as regular attendance in watercolour, acrylic, and craft classes has blossomed into an independent, self-directed Art Club at the Groundwork Learning Centre.

Under the initial guidance of tutor Jacqui, these students have not only mastered their brushstrokes but have also painted themselves a new path forward. The Wednesday afternoon gatherings have become a vibrant hub of creativity, where former students now share their expertise and inspire one another.

“All the learners are now being more creative as they don’t have to just follow what I set as a tutor.” Added Jacqui Phillips, Art and Craft Tutor

“What makes this initiative particularly exciting is how it embodies the true spirit of lifelong learning,” explains Keith, one of the key supporters behind the club’s formation. “These artists have created a space where they can explore their personal artistic interests while supporting each other’s creative growth.”

The ripple effects of this grassroots initiative extend beyond the club members themselves. By transitioning experienced artists into their own collaborative space, the Learning Centre can now welcome more beginners into their regular art courses, ensuring that the joy of artistic discovery remains accessible to newcomers.

For experienced artists interested in joining this flourishing creative community, the Learning Centre’s doors are open. Keith and Jill stand ready to welcome new members who wish to contribute to and benefit from this collaborative artistic environment.

This development represents more than just an administrative success – it’s a testament to how structured learning can evolve into sustainable, community-driven growth. In the process, it’s creating exactly what every learning centre hopes to achieve: a self-supporting circle of continuous learning and development.

Have you witnessed your own learning journey transform into something unexpected? The Art Club’s story reminds us that education is often just the beginning of a much larger adventure.

If you know any experienced artists that would be interested in joining the Art Club, please speak to Keith or Jill.
