Enhancing Sale Circle Greenspace
Sale Circle is a small collection of shops and community essentials located in Northenden, Manchester. The community space also features a small patch of grassland with shrubs, trees and planters.
Over the years, Sale Circle has become run down and overgrown, leading to cases of fly tipping too. However, thanks to funding from The Neighbourhood Infrastructure Renewal Fund, Groundwork Greater Manchester have been working with Manchester Council to enhance the space for local people and for nature.

After consulting with the local community, Manchester City Council commissioned our landscape architects to redesigned the space to include:
- A new pathway running through the greenspace
- Relocation of the raised planters
- A dedicated space for a feature Christmas tree
- New planting, including seasonal bulbs
Groundworkâs landscaping team have helped make the ideas a reality by:
- Cutting back overgrown shrubs
- Felling overgrown trees
- Laying new paths and edging
- Installing knee rails around the perimeter
