Our energy efficiency experts, the Green Doctors, provide life-changing support to those most in need across the UK, like 83-year-old Sheila who was already struggling on a state pension when an issue with her smart meter threw her into thousands of pounds of debt which would have made her unable to afford to eat or heat her home. Green Doctors had the debt wiped by her energy supplier, secured a £2,000 refund, and made her home more energy efficient to lower her future bills.
With 6 million households in the UK now living in fuel poverty, the Green Doctor service has never been more vital, and a small donation from you can help us to keep more people like Sheila warm, well and in control of their bills.
Groundwork’s Green Doctors visit homes to install energy saving measures, tackle causes of damp, mould and condensation, and provide advice on billing and fuel debt. Visiting the home means that our energy efficiency experts can spot other issues and signpost to further support, providing a holistic service which is tailored to each individual and their unique circumstances.
