Employment Advisor – Jobs For Hongkongers

Fixed Term until 31st March 2025 

Salary: £26,000 – £27,000 FTE 

Contract: 37.5 hours a week fulltime (Part Time will be considered) 

Location: Groundwork London Offices as required

In this role you will motivate and support refugees from Hong Kong to overcome any barriers to employment and facilitate their journey into sustainable employment or training opportunities.  

You will be supporting adult Londoners to achieve their full potential. Your clients will benefit from 1-2-1 and group support and to develop skills, become highly motivated to achieve their goals.  In this role you will deliver mentoring and holistic support to participants encouraging them to achieve new skills and qualifications as well as, broker employment opportunities that meet their needs.  You will work within the employment services team alongside ESOL Advisor and other Employment Advisors, reporting to the Programme Manager. 

You may also speak Cantonese which is desirable though not essential to this role.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to meet the needs of clients 
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and outreach work 
  • An understanding of the barriers some clients may face in reaching their potential 
  • Good attention to detail, and ability to record clients journeys to ensure contract compliance  
  • L3 NVQ in IAG or equivalent suitable experience in coaching, teaching or training 
  • The ability to succeed and meet the KPIs to achieve contract outputs 
  • The ability to self-manage whilst contributing to the success of the whole team 

In this role you will undertake a varied range of tasks from sign-ups, CV writing, job coaching and sourcing/matching employer vacancies with your participants.
