Background

Groundwork are making improvements to Suffragette Square in Stockport town centre, on behalf of Stockport Council, and we want to hear your ideas! Our community engagement team will be arranging a series of activities to seek views and opinions on our proposals for the square.

How can you get involved?

We’re looking for local people and businesses to roll up their sleeves and volunteer their time to help us enhance this space. Tasks could involve litter picking, planting, maintenance and helping us collect feedback.

Join us from 1pm – 4pm on the following days in 2024

Thursday 29th February
Thursday 7th March
Wednesday 13th March
Wednesday 20th March

Celebrate with us!

On Friday 8th March (International Womens Day) the the Mayor of Stockport and Stockport Council will introduce the revamped square – 6 years after the Square was first opened to the public.

On Saturday 23rd March we will be taking part in Stockport’s Town of Culture weekender, where we will be joined by Stockport Community Choir for a special performance.

Both celebration events will run from 1pm – 4pm and will have entertainment and fun activities for everybody to get involved with!
